Personal data comprises all data that can be used to identify you. By visiting adler.co.uk, you accept this privacy policy. If you do not accept this privacy policy, please do not use this website.

We take commercially appropriate measures to protect the personal data you provide, in order to safeguard it from loss, misuse, unauthorised access, divulgence, alteration and destruction. This website uses SSL encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content such as orders and inquiries. You can see that the connection is encrypted from the change in the browser’s address line from “http://” to “https://”, and from the lock symbol in your browser line. Encryption prevents the data you share with us from being intercepted by a third party. We also use a secure server and other physical and procedural safeguards to guarantee the security of your personal data.

Controller of Personal Data

When it comes to personal data processed by ADLER, the data controller responsible under the terms of the data protection laws is ADLER Manufacturing Ltd., Eastgate House, 35-43 Newport Rd, Cardiff

Some of the data processing is carried out by Myron Operations., USA, and by other companies commissioned by ADLER, within the framework of a contractual agreement. Myron has certified that it adheres to an appropriate level of data protection in accordance with the standards of the European Union.

Why do we process your data?

We are interested in acquiring you as a customer, in cultivating the customer relationship with you and in providing you with information and special offers. That is why we process your data and the criteria for personalised advertising on the basis of Article 6, Paragraph 1, Point b or f of the European General Data Protection Regulation, in order to supply you with products and to send you our special offers as well as special offers by other companies.

How do we gather your data?

We collect the data you share with us. This can include data you enter on an order submission or contact form, or data you enter when you register on this website. Other data is automatically gathered by our IT systems when you visit the website – in that case, this is predominantly technical data (e.g. your browser). This data is gathered automatically as soon as you visit our website. Some of the data is gathered in order to ensure that the website runs smoothly. Other data may be used to analyse your user behaviour.
We may also sometimes record some outgoing telephone calls we make at random, strictly for the legitimate interest of our own internal monitoring and training purposes and to ensure that our client care and customer service remains of the highest standard. All recordings are treated as personal data and are kept securely and will be deleted as soon as they have been reviewed for training and monitoring purposes.
In other instances, we may record part of any call at the point of placing an order, for the purposes of confirming the order accurately and on the basis of ensuring we fulfil the contract between ADLER and you. When this happens, we inform you that we will start to record the call. All recordings will be kept securely [FOR UP TO 7 YEARS].

Your Right to Information, Rectification, Deletion and Export

You can obtain information regarding the data stored about you, its origin, the purpose and duration of storage, as well as any recipients of that data at any time. If you require such information, please contact Customer Services or the Data Protection Team.

You can have your personal data rectified or deleted. It is only possible to have data deleted if we are no longer legally required to retain it. If you would like to have your information rectified or deleted, please contact Customer Services or the Data Protection Team.

In accordance with Article 20 of the General Data Protection Regulation, you also have a right to have any data you have submitted to us transferred to you or to a person/office nominated by you. To do so, please contact Customer Services or the Data Protection Team.

Who has access to your data?

We only pass on personal data to third parties when this is necessary to process the contract, for example to companies charged with the delivery of the goods or financial institutions commissioned with processing payments. In some circumstances we may have to disclose your personal data in order to (a) comply with the law, (b) protect or defend the rights or property of ADLER, (c) be able to act in urgent cases to protect the personal safety of the users of our website or the public, or (d) defend ourselves against a legal liability claim.

Secure Payment

All payments made by standard payment methods (Visa/MasterCard) are processed using an encrypted SSL or TLS connection. You can see that the connection is encrypted from the change in the browser’s address line from “http://” to “https://” and from the lock symbol in your browser line. Encrypted communication prevents the payment data you submit to us from being intercepted by a third party.

Registering on our Website

You can register on our website in order to use additional functions on it. We only use the data you enter when registering for the purpose of using the respective offer or service for which you have registered. The mandatory fields in the registration process must be completed in full. Data entered during registration will be processed on the basis of your consent.

Use of our Contact Form

If you submit a query through our contact form, the information you provide in the query form – including the contact details – is stored for the purpose of processing the query and in case follow-up questions arise. We will not share this data with anyone without your permission. The data entered in the contact form is therefore processed solely on the basis of your consent (Article 6, Paragraph 1, Point a GDPR). You can retract this consent at any time – an informal communication by email to us suffices. The lawfulness of the data processing carried out up to the point of retraction remains unaffected by the retraction. We will keep the data you enter in the contact form until you request its deletion, until you retract your consent to its storage, or until the purpose of the data retention no longer applies (e.g. after your query has been processed). Mandatory legal provisions – and retention periods in particular – remain unaffected.

Advertising by ADLER

We would like to send you information about ADLER’s new products as well as special offers and other information we believe could be of interest to you. You can opt out of our advertising at any time. If you choose to do so, we can put you on our advertising opt-out list. To opt out, please contact Customer Services or the Data Protection Team.

Revocation of Your Consent to Data Processing

Some data processing operations are only possible with your consent. You can revoke your consent at any time. An informal e-mail notification is sufficient to do so. The legality of data processing carried out prior to your revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.

Right to Object to the Collection of Your Data in Special Cases and to Right to Object to Direct Marketing (Art. 21 GDPR)

If data processing is carried out on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1, e) or f) GDPR, you have the right, at any time, to object to the processing of your personal data based on your particular situation. This also applies to profiling based on these provisions. The respective legal basis on which the data is processed can be found in this data protection declaration. If you submit an objection, we will cease processing your personal data unless we can produce evidence of compelling reasons for processing which outweigh your interests, rights and freedoms or the data processing serves to assert, exercise or defend legal claims (objection according to Art. 21 para. 1 GDPR). If your personal data is processed for direct marketing, you have the right to object at any time to the processing of this personal data for such purposes; this also applies to profiling insofar as it is connected with such direct marketing measures. If you object, your personal data will no longer be used for direct marketing (objection according to Art. 21 para. 2 GDPR).

The ADLER Newsletter

If you would like to receive the newsletter that is advertised on our website, we will need your email address and information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the submitted email address, and confirmation that you consent to receiving the newsletter. This information is processed on the basis of your consent (Article 6, Paragraph 1, Point a of the General Data Protection Regulation). You can retract the consent given to store the data and the email address, as well as the consent for its use to send the newsletter at any time, for example by clicking on the “Unsubscribe” link in the newsletter. The lawfulness of the data processing previously carried out is not affected by the retraction of consent. The data you submit to us for the purpose of receiving the newsletter is stored by us until you unsubscribe from the newsletter, and is then deleted. Data that has been stored by us for other purposes remains unaffected by this.

Advertising by ADLER’s Partners

From time to time, we give selected partner companies the opportunity to present their offers to our customers. Your data is not passed on to these partners, only to neutral and specially commissioned service providers. Only if you respond to an offer and are in direct contact with one of these partner companies will you be known to them. Of course, you are always free to opt out of advertising by our partners. To do so, please contact Customer Services.

Use of our Chat Function

You can use the chat function on our website to request advice directly from a member of staff at ADLER. You do not have to provide us with any additional information to use the chat function. However, we do set cookies to make it possible for you to use real-time chat. We also work with a specially commissioned company to provide the chat service, as part of a contractual agreement. The chat function is provided via a secure internet connection.

PowerReviews

We use PowerReviews to allow customers to leave product reviews. By creating a product review, you agree to the terms and privacy declaration of PowerReviews. Your data is transmitted to PowerReviews. Please read the privacy guidelines and terms of use beforehand.

Criteo

On our websites, technology provided by Criteo GmbH is used to gather and store anonymised information about the surfing habits of website visitors for marketing purposes. This data is saved in cookies on the visitor’s computer. Criteo GmbH uses an algorithm to analyse the surfing behaviour, which is recorded in anonymised form, and can then show targeted product recommendations in the form of personalised advertising banners on other websites (“publishers”). This data can never be used to identify you personally as a visitor to our websites. The data collected is only used to improve our product and service offering. No other use is made of this data and it is never passed on to any third parties.

You can also opt out of this anonymous analysis of your surfing habits on our websites under the user options/settings (opt-out field). If you have already opted out (opt-out cookie) and then decide you would like to see personalised Criteo banners again, you can reactivate them at any time. For further information on the technology used, please see Criterio’s privacy policy.

NextRoll

On our websites, technology provided by NextRoll (NextRoll Limited, 1, Burlington Plaza, Burlington Road, Dublin 4, Ireland) is used to gather and store anonymised information about the surfing habits of website visitors for marketing purposes. This data is saved in cookies on the visitor’s computer. NextRoll analyses the surfing behaviour, which is recorded in anonymised form, and can then show targeted product recommendations in the form of personalised advertising banners on other websites. The data collected is only used to improve our product and service offering. No other use is made of this data and it is never passed on to third parties. For more information on NextRoll’s privacy policy and data protection guidelines, and to object to/opt out of this analysis of your surfing habits, please go to: Service Privacy Notice. You can also prevent cookies from being stored on your computer by changing the settings on your browser.

Emarsys

We use Emarsys for personalisation, analytics, automation and e-mail campaigns. The operating company Emarsys eMarketing Systems GmbH uses cookies and tracking pixels to create newsletters and advertisements tailored to you and your interests. You will receive newsletters that are individually tailored to your interests, provided you have either given your consent to receive our newsletter and completed the associated double opt-in process to verify your e-mail address, or have created a customer account on our website. We use existing information such as receipt and reading confirmations of e-mails, information about computers and connections to the Internet, operating system and platform, your surfing history on our website, date and time of your visit to the homepage, as well as products/articles visited by you. We use this information exclusively in pseudonymised form. Your e-mail address will be pseudonymised by us in this context. Therefore, Emarsys cannot merge it with your data as the bearer of the pseudonym. The data will be deleted as soon as it is no longer required for our protocols. You can permanently prevent the setting of cookies at any time by making the appropriate settings in your browser, so that Emarsys cannot set a cookie. In addition, cookies already used by Emarsys can be deleted at any time via the browser. If you generally do not wish to receive personalised advertising from us via Emarsys, you can object to this at any time. All you need to do is send a text message to the contact details stated in this data protection declaration. Further information on Emarsys' data protection regulations can be found here.

Recording server-log files

The website provider automatically gathers and saves information in so-called server-log files, which your browser automatically sends to us. This information includes:

  • Browser type and browser version
  • The operating system used
  • Referrer URL
  • Host name of the computer accessing the website
  • Time of the server request
  • IP address

This data is not aggregated with other data sources. The basis for the data processing is Article 6, Paragraph 1, Point b of the General Data Protection Regulation, which allows data to be processed to fulfil a contract or carry out pre-contractual measures.

Analytics and Statistics on our Website

When you visit our website, your user behaviour may be statistically evaluated. That happens mainly through the use of cookies and so-called analytics programs. As a rule, the analysis of your user behaviour is carried out anonymously and cannot be traced back to you. You can opt out of this analysis or you can prevent the analysis from being carried out by not using certain tools. You’ll find detailed information on this in this privacy policy. You can opt out of this analysis, and we provide information about your options in this regard in this privacy policy.

Cookies on our Website

We use cookies on our website. Cookies are alphanumeric files that store information on your hard drive or browser that enables ADLER to recognize that you have visited the website before. Cookies do not cause damage to your computer and do not carry any viruses. Cookies are used to make our service more user-friendly, effective and secure. It also makes it easier for you to view your preferred areas on the website.

Most of the cookies used on our website are so-called “session cookies”. These are automatically deleted after the end of your visit. Other cookies remain stored on your end device until you delete them. These cookies allow us to recognise your browser the next time you visit the website. You can set your browser to inform you when cookies are placed, to only allow cookies in particular cases, to accept cookies for specific cases, to generally reject cookies, and to automatically delete cookies when you close the browser. The functionality of this website may become limited when you deactivate cookies. Cookies required to carry out electronic communication processes or to provide certain functions you desire to use (e.g. the shopping cart function) are stored on the basis of Article 6, Paragraph 1, Point f of the General Data Protection Regulation. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the storage of cookies to ensure the technically sound and optimised provision of its services. Insofar as other cookies (e.g. cookies used to analyse your surfing behaviour) are stored, these are covered separately in this privacy policy.

Use of Google Analytics on this Website

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland. Google Analytics uses cookies, which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyse how you use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website will normally be transmitted to and stored on Google servers in the United States. The storage of Google Analytics cookies occurs on the basis of Article 6, Paragraph 1, Point f of GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the analysis of user behaviour in order to optimise both its website and its advertising.

IP Anonymization

We have activated the IP anonymization function on this website. As a result, your IP address is truncated by Google within member states of the European Union or within member states of the European Economic Area before it is transmitted to the USA. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to one of Google’s servers in the USA and truncated there. Working on behalf of the website operator, Google will use this information to analyse your use of the website, to compile reports about the website activities and to provide additional services linked to the use of the website and the use of the internet for the website operator. Google does not link the IP address transmitted from your browser as part of Google Analytics with any other data.

Browser Plugin

You can prevent cookies from being stored on your computer by adjusting the settings in your browser software. However, you should be aware that if you do so, you may not be able to use all the functions of this website in their entirety. Furthermore, you can prevent the data produced by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) from being gathered and transmitted to Google, and prevent this data from being processed by Google, by downloading and installing the browser plugin that is available under the following link.

Opting Out of Data Gathering

You can prevent Google Analytics from gathering your data by clicking on the following link. An opt-out cookie is set, which prevents your data from being gathered when you visit this website in future: Deactivate Google Analytics. Youll find more information on how Google Analytics handles user data in Google’s Privacy Policy.

Data Processing Contract

We have concluded a data processing contract with Google and we fully implement the strict standards of Germany’s data protection authorities in our use of Google Analytics.

Google Analytics Remarketing

Our websites use the functions of Google Analytics Remarketing in conjunction with the cross-device functions of Google AdWords and Google DoubleClick. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland. This function makes it possible to link the advertising target groups created using Google Analytics Remarketing with the cross-device functions of Google AdWords and Google DoubleClick. This allows personalised, interest-based advertising that was tailored to you based on your past usage and surfing behaviour on one end device (e.g. smartphone) to be also displayed on your other end devices (e.g. tablet or PC). If you give your consent, Google will link your web and app browser history to your Google account for this purpose. This allows the same personalised advertising messages to be shown on every end device on which you log into your Google account. To support this function, Google Analytics gathers Google-authenticated IDs of users, which are temporarily linked to our Google Analytics data in order to define and create target groups for cross-device advertising campaigns. You can permanently opt out of cross-device remarketing/targeting by deactivating personalised advertising in your Google account. To do this, please click on this link.

The data collected in your Google account is summarised solely on the basis of your consent, which you can give Google, or retract (Article 6, Paragraph 1, Point a of the GDPR). With data collection processes that are not aggregated in your Google account (e.g. because you do not have a Google account or because you have objected to this aggregation), the collection of data is based on Article 6, Paragraph 1, Point f of the GDPR. The legitimate interest stems from the fact that the website operator has an interest in the anonymised analysis of website visitors for advertising purposes. You can find further information and the data protection provisions in Google’s Privacy Policy.

Use of Google AdWords and Google Conversion Tracking

This website uses Google AdWords. AdWords is an online advertising program by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland (“Google”). Within the framework of Google AdWords, we use so-called conversion tracking. When you click on an advert placed by Google, a conversion tracking cookie is set. Cookies are small text files placed on the user’s computer by the internet browser. These cookies expire after 30 days and do not personally identify the user. If the user visits certain pages on this website and the cookie has still not expired, we and Google can see that the user has clicked on the advert and was passed on to this page. Every Google AdWords customer is given a different cookie. The cookies cannot be tracked beyond the websites of AdWords customers. The information gathered using conversion cookies is used to produce conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have opted for conversion tracking. Customers get to know the total number of users who have clicked on their advert and who were forwarded to a page with a conversion tracking tag. However, they are not given any information that could be used to identify users personally. If you would prefer not to take part in tracking, you can opt out of this by simply deactivating the Google Conversion tracking cookie in your browser’s user settings. You will then not be included in the conversion tracking statistics. “Conversion cookies” are stored on the basis of Article 6, Paragraph 1, Point f of the GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the analysis of user behaviour in order to optimise both its website and its advertising. You can find more information on Google AdWords and Google Conversion Tracking in Google’s data protection provisions.

You can set your browser to inform you when cookies are placed, to only allow cookies in particular cases, to accept cookies for specific cases, to generally reject cookies, and to automatically delete cookies when you close the browser. The functionality of this website may become limited when you deactivate cookies.

Use of IBM Coremetrics Web Analytics

Our websites also use IBM Coremetrics Web Analytics, a web analytics service provided by IBM Coremetrics (IBM). ADLER passes on information produced by cookies to IBM in order to optimise and further develop our service and the website. The information produced by the cookie is transmitted to an IBM Coremetrics Web Analytics server in the USA and is stored there. IBM compiles reports on website use from the delivered data. This information does not contain any personal data. The IP address transmitted with the data is masked so that it cannot reveal your location. This information helps ADLER to constantly improve its choice of products and website. The data is not shared with any third party. However, IBM does retain the limited right to reveal data if this is legally required, or is required by a legally valid ruling by a court or authority, or is required in order to protect the health and safety of IBM staff, of a client’s staff or of the general public. You can prevent cookies from being stored on your computer by changing the settings of your browser software. However, you should be aware that if you do so, you may not be able to use all the functions of this website in their entirety.

Use of Bing Ads Universal Event Tracking

Bing Ads technology is used on our website to gather and save data, from which user profiles are created under pseudonyms. This is a service provided by the Microsoft Corporation, One Microsoft Way Redmond, WA 98052‐6399, USA. This service makes it possible to track the activities of users on our website when they arrive there via Bing Ads adverts. If you reach our website via one of these adverts, a cookie is placed on your computer. A Bing UET tag is integrated into our website. This is a code through which – in conjunction with the cookie – some non-personal data about the use of the website is stored. No information about your identity is gathered. The information collected is transmitted to the Microsoft server in the USA and stored there for a maximum of 180 days. You can prevent the data produced by the cookie about your use of the website from being collected, and from being processed, by deactivating the setting of cookies. That could, under some circumstances, limit the functionality of this website. Furthermore, Microsoft can, under some circumstances, track your user behaviour across multiple electronic devices using so-called “cross‐device tracking”, and is thereby able to display personalised adverts on Microsoft websites and in apps. You can deactivate that here.

You’ll find more information about Bing’s analytics services on the Bing Ads website. You’ll find more information on data protection at Microsoft and Bing in Microsoft’s Privacy Policy.

Use of Facebook Pixels

Our website uses Facebook’s visitor-action pixel to track conversions (Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (“Facebook”)). This makes it possible to track the behaviour of website visitors once they have been directed to the provider’s website after clicking on a Facebook advert. As a result, the effectiveness of Facebook adverts can be evaluated for statistical and market-research purposes and future advertising measures can be optimised. For us as the website operator, the data gathered is anonymous and we cannot identify the user personally. However, Facebook does store and process the data, which means that it is possible to link it to the respective user profile and Facebook can use the data for its advertising purposes in accordance with the Facebook Data Usage Policy. Facebook can therefore allow adverts to be placed on Facebook as well as outside Facebook. We, as the website operator, have no influence over this use of the data. You’ll find further guidance on privacy in Facebook’s Data Policy. You can also deactivate the “Custom Audiences” remarketing function in the advertising settings. You must be registered with Facebook to do this. If you do not have a Facebook account, you can deactivateFacebook’s usage-based advertising through the website of the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance.

We Use the Facebook Plugin

Plugins by the social network Facebook (Provider: Facebook Inc., 1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, California 94025, USA) are integrated into our website. You will recognise the Facebook plugins from the Facebook logo or the "Like” button on our website. You’ll find an overview of the Facebook plugins here. When you visit our website, a direct connection is established between your browser and the Facebook server via the plugin. Facebook thereby receives the information that you, with your IP address, have visited our website. If you click the Facebook “Like” button while you are logged-in to your Facebook account, you can add a link to the content of our webpages on your Facebook profile. That allows Facebook to attribute your visit to our website to your user account. Please note that we as the website provider do not receive any information regarding the content of the transmitted data or its use by Facebook. You’ll find more information on this in Facebook’s Data Policy If you do not want Facebook to be able to attribute your visit to our website to your Facebook user account, please log out of your user account.

We Use the Twitter Plugin

Twitter service functions are integrated into our website. These functions are provided by Twitter Inc., 1355 Market Street, Suite 900, San Francisco, CA 94103, USA. By using Twitter and the “retweet” function, the websites you visit are linked to your Twitter account and are shared with other users. Data is also thereby transmitted to Twitter. Please note that we as the website provider do not receive any information regarding the content of the transmitted data or its use by Twitter. You’ll find more information on this in Twitter’s Privacy Policy. You can change your data protection settings on Twitter under the account settings.

We Use the Google+ Plugin

Our website uses Google+ functions (provider: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland). Gathering and passing on information: You can use the Google+ interface to publish information globally. Through the Google+ interface, you and other users receive personalised content from Google and our partners. Google saves the information that you have given a specific piece of content +1, as well as information about the page you were looking at when you clicked +1. Your +1, along with your profile name and your photo, can be displayed as information in Google services such as in search results or in your Google profile, or in other places on websites and adverts online. Google records information about your +1 activities in order to improve its services for you and others. To use the Google+ interface, you need a public Google profile that is visible worldwide and which must include, at the very least, the name selected for the profile. This name is used in all Google services. In some cases, this name can also replace another name that you have used in the past when sharing content via your Google account. The identity of your Google profile can be displayed to users who know your email address or who have other information that identifies you. Use of the information collected: In addition to the uses outlined above, the information you provide will be used in accordance with the current Google data protection provisions. Google may publish summarised statistics about the +1 activities of its users, and/or it may pass these on to users and partners such as publishers, advertisers or associated websites.

Links to External Websites

Our website contains or may contain links to external websites belonging to third parties, over whose content we have no control. We cannot therefore assume liability for this external content. The provider or operator of the respective website is responsible for the content of these linked websites in all cases. The linked websites were checked for possible legal violations at the time the link was created and no unlawful content was visible at that time. However, it is not reasonable to continuously check the content of linked websites without a specific indication of a legal infringement. We will remove such links immediately if we are made aware of legal infringements.
