This mask is a 3-layer face mask with ear loops that covers the mouth and nose as recommended for wearing by our citizens. It is not a product that is certified as personal protective equipment, for example according to FFP or N95 standards. According to the latest recommendations, products of this type should remain intended for use by qualified personnel. This mask has no protective function in the sense of personal protective equipment according to Regulation (EU) 2016/425 of the European Parliament and of the Council on personal protective equipment (PPE_Regulation).
Recommendation for face masks: By now, almost all leading institutes and virologists recommend wearing masks. While protective masks certified according to higher standards, such as FFP, N95 or KN95 masks, should be reserved for professionals (e.g. in hospitals, patient care and emergency services), simple face masks are effective in preventing the transmission of droplet-borne infections.
